Joe Thuney was selected by his teammates as the Kansas City Chiefs Courage Award Recipient for 2022.
Thuney was selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He quickly became a starter on the team’s offensive line and played a key role in their huge comeback victory in Super Bowl LI .
After spending five seasons with the Patriots, Thuney signed a five-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. He immediately became a starter on the team’s offensive line providing stability and consistency to the unit.
Off the field, Thuney is known for his philanthropic work and community involvement. He has been involved in various initiatives to support youth sports programs and has worked with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He was also the Patriots’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2020.
