LB Ventrell Miller was drafted by Jacksonville in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. In the team’s final preseason game of 2023 against the Miami Dolphins (Aug. 26, 2023), Miller suffered an Achilles injury that ended his rookie season. He spent the entire 2023 season on injured reserve.
In Week 4 at Houston (Sept. 29, 2024), he made his first NFL start and led the team with a career-high 10 tackles (seven solo) and one tackle for loss. Miller completed his first full season on the active roster in 2024, appearing in 15 games, making nine starts. He finished with 74 tackles (48 solo), four tackles for loss, three passes defensed and one forced fumble, in addition to posting six tackles (five solo) on special teams.
When asked about his progress in overcoming his injury Miller stated, “Very pleased. But I know I’ve got still more work to do. Still trying to get better, I’d say. It was a grind, but I’ll definitely say I’m pleased with just my offseason, and just how I worked, how much of a grind that was and just to see it pay off. That’s what I’m really happy about.”
