Tycen Anderson, a third-year player out of the University of Toledo, suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8 of the 2023 campaign at San Francisco. At the time of his injury, he led the Bengals with eight special teams tackles. He finished the game against the 49ers before further testing confirmed the injury, which required surgery and an extensive rehab process.
Anderson was cleared to return to practice ahead of training camp and has played in each of the Bengals’ eight regular-season games in 2024. He once again leads the team with eight special teams tackles, and his efforts in punt coverage during the Week 6 win over the N.Y. Giants were recognized with a game ball presented by head coach Zac Taylor.
Away from the field, Anderson returns annually to his hometown of Toledo, where he hosts a Local Legends Youth Football Camp and a McKinley Broncos Little League Football Camp. This past summer, he volunteered at the Bengals Character Playbook Skills & Drills Clinic powered by Gatorade.

2023 - Chidobe (Chido) Awuzie started the first eight games of the Cincinnati Bengals 2022 season before suffering a season-ending ACL injury on October 31st. He was tied for the team lead with five passes defensed at the time of his injury.
Chido underwent successful surgery in November of 2022. He worked extremely hard in the rehab process and took a very consistent approach that resulted in a strong recovery. Chido’s work ethic and positive attitude while attacking the rehab process paid off as he was cleared for the start of the 2023 season. He returned to the field as a starter in 2023 and remains a great leader for the Bengals defense. Chido is an outstanding veteran presence in the locker room and is valuable mentor to a young secondary unit. His work off the field and in his community is a passion that does not go unnoticed. The Awuzie Kickstep Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building the youth through teaching skills, trades, and games applicable to real life. He is consistently active in the local community, partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati. A native of San Jose, Calif., Chido also works directly with Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH), with a mission to end homelessness for individuals, families and communities. Chido additionally spends his time supporting UIUCares, a charitable arm of Umu Igbo Unite Corporation whose mission is to invest in sustainable programs to improve opportunities for Igbo Communities both in Nigeria and in the diaspora.
