Jourdan Lewis was selected by his teammates as the Dallas Cowboys Courage Award Recipient for 2023.
Lewis suffered a devastating foot injury during the game against the Detroit Lions on Oct. 23, 2022 that required emergency surgery and landed him on Reserve/Injured for the remainder of the season. Despite the severity of the injury, Lewis persevered and spent the next 11 months healing and rehabbing to prepare for the 2023 season. He overcame all odds, missing only the season-opening game, before returning to the playing field for the Week 2 home opener against the N.Y. Jets. For the year. Lewis played in 16 games with eight starts and finished 10th on the team with 53 tackles from his slot corner position.
