In a 2020 season that saw Godwin and his teammates hold up the Lombardi trophy after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV, Godwin and his teammates expected the 2021 season to be no different. Unfortunately, injuries happen and Godwin suffered a torn ACL during the Buccaneers’ 9-0 loss to the Saints in Week 15 that ended his 2021 season. After a strenuous rehab, he returned to the team to start week one of the 2022 season and finished the season with his first back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving season in his career, and a career-high for receptions in a season with 104, a number he was six receptions shy of the year prior, before the injury.
