2023 PFATS Athletic Trainers of the Year

Buffalo Bills - 2023 PFATS Athletic Trainers of the Year

The Ed Block Courage Award for PFATS Staff of the Year is chosen by the members of the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society to honor an athletic training staff that displays a remarkable effort for contributions to their NFL Club, the NFL Community and the profession of athletic training. This distiguished service and charitable work to the communities in which they serve sets them apart and deserves recognition.

This year the PFATS Staff of the Year, the Buffalo Bills, are all of these qualities and more. When faced with the most adverse of any situation possible, they responded and the whole world saw what we already knew, they are excellent professionals. Although this situation could be described as a tragedy averted, the Buffalo Bills athletic training staff took this opportunity to turn it into a positive for their community, for their profession and for the NFL. They have raised awareness about the need for education in hands-only CPR and AED use, have been the catalyst for raising money for much needed AED’s and supplies, and have shown why it is so important to have skilled professionals such as certified athletic trainers covering events.

PFATS is proud to be represented by the Buffalo Bills, this years’ recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award PFATS Staff of the Year.
