The Peacock Hyle Volunteer of the Year Award was named after the first two winners, Mary Anne Peacock (1989) and GG Hyle (1990), who have spent tireless decades assisting with daily operations, fundraising and outreach of the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation. Mary Anne is currently a long-serving member of our Board of Directors, while GG is our Volunteer Coordinator, working directly with the office staff on all events.
A volunteer is selected by our staff who has exceeded expectations in supporting the Foundation throughout the year and demonstrates determined dedication to our mission and compassion for the children that we serve. During the VIP Sponsor Brunch the distinguished honor is bestowed to the awardee who is presented with a special recognition that includes a commemorative plaque and a signed football by the Courage Award recipients.
