Ravens defensive back Kevon Seymour is Baltimore’s 2023 Ed Block Courage Award recipient. Seymour’s story is one of resilience. From the multitude of injuries that he has endured over the course of his six-year NFL career to the tragedies he’s faced in his personal life, Seymour’s story resonated with his Ravens teammates.
Seymour has overcome multiple injury setbacks in his career, including a wrist injury that saw him miss an entire NFL season. He joined the Ravens in 2021, finding success on Baltimore’s defense.
But in 2022, tragedy struck. Prior to that season, Seymour, who was raised by a single mother along with his twin brother, lost his older sister to a sudden heart attack at age 35, devastating him. Despite the many hardships in his life, Seymour, a father of four, has become one of the Ravens’ most willing supporters off the field and spends much of his time giving back to youth programs in the area.
