Originally drafted by San Francisco in the first round and ninth overall in 2018, OT Mike McGlinchey recently finished his fifth season with the 49ers. Throughout his career McGlinchey has started in 68 games and six postseason contests.
In San Francisco’s Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals in 2021, McGlinchey suffered a season-ending tear to his quadricep. Following surgery in November of that same year, McGlinchey returned in 2022 and started each of the team’s 17 regular season and three postseason contests at right tackle, as the team went on another deep playoff run to the NFC Championship Game.
The 49ers offensive line allowed zero sacks in five games in 2022, matching the most registered by the 49ers in a single season since 1980. In 2000, the team also did not allow a sack in five games. San Francisco’s five games without surrendering a sack were tied for the second-most in the NFL for the 2022 season.
